This panel was given last year at Nekocon, but due to particular technical difficulties, it was presented without the accompanying Powerpoint presentation. This panel covers defining what a space western is, how it relates to Space Opera, how the genre was originally received, and how it persists today using both anime and non-anime examples, such as Space Dandy, Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop and more.

Geek's Night of Comedy (13+)
Geeks Night of Comedy: Stand-up comedy, for geeks, by geeks!! The show consists of multiple stand-up comedians that work comedy clubs, dive bars, college campuses, and any place that will give them a microphone and speakers!! They aren't just geeks that get on stage spouting funny memes and talking about things you've read or seen on the internet a million times!! These comics have been working the stage hard, and the roster even includes multi-time winners of comedy competitions. Some of the comedians have even performed at comedy festivals! They also know that not all material is for a regular audience. Some of their more geeky material goes way over the head of some audiences. The chances of a biker or redneck bar knowing anything about the Kobeyashi Maru, Doctor Who, or Gryffindor are slim to none. So the geeks pull all that material and save it for you!!
Geeks night comedians have made multiple performances at the Virginia Beach and Richmond Funnybone Comedy Club, DC IMPROV, ODU’s Anime-con, Marscon, Awesome-con, Nekocon, Fanta-sci, and most recently, a very successful show at the Orlando IMPROV. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!

Budget Ballad Cosplay presents: 100below- How to Make your Cosplay Rock on a tight budget.
The cosplay duo, Budget Ballad Cosplay, is here to help you learn all the tricks and tips on how to make your cosplay accurate and mesmerizing for less than 100$. Ran by the duo themselves, Kitty-Blue and Seahorse. This panel is designed for cosplayers who are very detail-oriented and like to save money while still being creative and accurate in their cosplay and prop making. In this specific panel, we will go through the process of making Seahorse's first cosplay: Caius Ballad from Final Fantasy 13. Leather Costuming - Tips and Tricks
Leather as a costume medium presents certain challenges that can be easily overcome with a little knowledge and planning. Although this class isn't designed to make you a master leather costumer on its own, it can give you plenty of insight into the planning and assembly techniques to keep you from wasting materials and prevent much of the angst surrounding the considerable investment that leather can represent. Pattern modifications, unique seam allowances, gathering, dyeing and fitting will all be discussed with a special emphasis on selecting the correct weight and finish for your project. The instructor has nearly 30 years of leather costuming experience and is interested in helping everyone that expresses an interest succeed with this natural medium.

Opinions and Arguments: Eternal Struggles of the Passionate Fan
This is a panel about the seemingly age-old habit of debating and its tendency to tear fans apart and divide communities. We hope to arm the curious with the know-how to engage in fair, honest and respectful debates when argument seems all but inevitable. We will also talk about how personal interpretations, fanworks, and criticism all play a part in our neverending battle to celebrate and defend our most beloved characters and stories.

Other things this panel will cover: learning how to criticize fairly and why it's okay to be criticized, how to tell the difference between theory, hypothesis and speculation; and making clear the big picture that discussions of fans' opinions should be a positive sharing experience even if debate is involved.

Apotheosis: Terragenesis Part II - Masters of Time and Place
“In the first part of Terragenesis, we created an entire world from nothingness, but if you dropped players into this world, there would still be something critical missing. That something is a sense of history, which can build that ever – elusive but absolutely essential sense of place. Your world has been through a lot before the players arrived on the scene, and once the continents have been placed and the seas have been divided, the moons set in the sky and the first humanoids start blinking their eyes, we have wind up the engine of history and create a past to build towards the present that the players' characters are born into. We have to write that history, with the goal of building a world that feels like it has always been there, just waiting to be discovered.”

(Author's Note: Once again, while built with the needs of Game Masters in mind, the material in this panel is useful to all sorts of creative people who need to create a new and believable fictional world. The techniques taught in this panel can also be used to snarl the strands of history that weave the history of an altered version of our own reality. If you need a place for your story to begin, at the end of a history you have written for it, this is the panel for you.)

Topics include:

- How to weave the threads of history from the foundations of civilization to the present day
- Building a sense of place through the creation of countries and nationalities
- Wars, Plagues, Natural Disasters, and other ways to sever the thread of history
- Lost Civilizations and Vanished Histories for the Players to discover
- Moving towards the present using the tide of history to create the current political climate.

Many themes will be touched on: my own backstory and relationship to fitness (as well as testimony from friends who have made similar fitness endeavors), weight loss vs. fat loss (and why the scale is the enemy), nutrition (and why it makes or breaks your goal), getting big vs. getting lean/toned, basic fitness and lifestyle principles, whether a person truly requires supplements for their goals, the right exercises for the right goals, fitness/nutrition myth busting, optimal gym/home workouts, fitness while injured/disabled, and ending off with a Q&A session.
